Destined to become the business
and cultural hub of the Middle East and surrounding regions,
the International City is a unique 800 hectare development
that combines an exotic mix of commercial, residential, retail
and tourism elements from different parts of the world. The
name is derived from its own Residential District which encompasses
a variety of country-specific architectural themes adding
to the international essence of the project. Located on the
Emirates road, near the Dubai International Airport, it is
20 minutes away from Dubai International Financial Center
and 15 minutes to Dubai Festival City.
The Project
The project comprises of four
main districts; the Central District, Residential District,
Lake District and Forbidden City, neighboring Dragon Mart
Complex & Dubai Design Centre.
The Central District
The Central District is a home
to retailers, wholesalers and corporate offices, and acts
as the nerve center of the development. It comprises of 34
plots, where investors can develop their own projects (in
line with International City’s themes and aesthetics).
All 10 storey towers in the Central District house retail
outlets on the ground floor and each tower will have basement
parking for 130 vehicles.
The Residential District
The Residential District is
spread out over 300 hectares. The studio and one bedroom apartments
will highlight the architectural wonders of Italy, Spain,
Morocco, Persia, Greece, China, Indonesia, England, Russia,
Thailand and France. It hosts commercial shops, restaurants,
medical centers, post office, police station, two civil defense
units and transportation services.
Lakes District
The Lakes District comprise
of 60 hectares of lush green landscape that borders a serene
lake. It contains buildings with a total of 1375 apartments,
offering 2 and 3 bedroom duplex apartments. The Lake District
is being built around Al Warsan Lake which is a 100 hectare
natural eco system and home to over 186 species of birds including
some of the most exotic and rare birds found in the Arabian
Peninsula and parts of Asia
Forbidden City
Forbidden City consists of
a 240,000 square meter replica of the iconic Forbidden City
in China. This development will host a variety of entertainment
facilities, in addition to retail and restaurant outlets,
public squares and authentic Chinese-themed displays. It is
to accommodate residential and retail outlets set among remarkable
gardens, museums and performance patios.
The Dragon Mart
The Dragon Mart is the first
and only project of its kind in the region. It is a large
trade mall designed in the form of a dragon and will serve
as a commercial center for more than 3,000 Chinese companies.
Dubai Design Centre
Dubai Design Center is an exclusive
area for permanent and temporary exhibitions and it occupies
three sides of the Internet City. It will also contain two
hotels with 3 to 4 hundred rooms each, to accommodate exhibitors
and visitors alike.
